Deciding Your Chandelier Height and Size:

Dinning Room with chandelier

Chandeliers can make a huge impact in your space. Deciding the size can be simplified with a few general rules of thumb. Here are a few general guidelines to get you started in the right direction.

General Guidelines:

Make it stand out

  1. Choose a chandelier that is 1/2 to 2/3 the width of your dining table.

  2. Add the length and width of a room for the diameter of the chandelier. For example a 12’ x 16’ room would have a chandelier that is 28” in diameter.

  3. Height above he table. For an 8’ ceiling, the distance from the table to the base of the chandelier would be 30”-36”. Add 3” for each additional foot in ceiling height. For example a dining room with an 11’ ceiling would have a distance of 36”-42” to the base of the chandelier to the top of table.

It is worth mentioning certain situations simply will not meet the standard equation or the general rules will simply not meet your needs. Use the guidelines above as a bases to create your happy space.

I hope this helps and you are all having an amazing summer!

Sincerely,
